ZEMA ADVISES RESIDENTS TO DESIST FROM OPEN BURNING OF WASTE

With rapid population growth and urbanization, annual waste generation globally is expected to increase by 70 percent from 2016 levels to 3.40 billion tonnes in 2050.

With the continued rise in waste generation, some Lusaka residents have called on the city council, to improve waste management in order to address the open or backyard burning of waste.
